            Woolfest 2018

Sara was involved with the Woolclip the group that runs Woolfest before moving to the Island, and she has introduced us to its delights.  We went as a group from the Island in 2015 and amongst the chitter chat that accompanied our evenings a small seed was planted that we would one day go as exhibitors. The phrases ‘dreams do come true’ along with ‘be careful what you wish for’ both spring to mind just now. So now in 2018 we are going as Fibre Space Isle of Man representing the Island and its many woolly creatives.

Alongside running workshops and taking work from our own team we are also showcasing items created by partners including Laxey Woollen Mills, Isle of Wool, Manx Textile Creative, Manx Spinners & Weavers, Snuggles Knitwear, Manx Loaghtan, Yarny Gráinne and Manx Yarnies.
We have been fortunate to have the moral support of various organizations including Manx National Heritage, Visit Isle of Man and would specially like to thank both Culture Vannin  and the IOM Steam Packet for their sponsorship.

Woolfest is taking place on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd June 2018 at Mitchell's Lakeland Livestock Centre, Cockermouth.  For anyone visiting Woolfest this year, you will find Fibre Space Isle of Man at stalls K265 - K266 where they are holding the following demonstrations and workshops
  • All day interactive peg loom installation
  • Shepherd's knitting / Tunisian crochet 12 noon & 3pm
  • Braiding with a trollen loom at 11am & 2pm
